Britney L. Retess
Owner
Britney L. Retess is a dedicated attorney and litigator focusing on Family Law and Probate. For more than six years, she has represented clients with compassion, clarity, and strong advocacy in matters that are often both complex and deeply personal. Britney is committed not only to effective legal representation, but also to helping clients feel informed and supported throughout the process.
Britney strives to bring awareness in the community regarding Guardianship, Probate, and Estate Planning, areas where clients may not be familiar with all options available to them. She understands the importance of maintaining positive relationships with clients while maximizing equitable outcomes.
Britney earned her Juris Doctorate from Loyola University Chicago School of Law in 2018, focusing on Family Law and Trial Advocacy. During law school, she gained practical experience through the Mediation Clinic, the Child Law Clinic, the Office of the Public Guardian, and work with solo practitioners. She also served in leadership roles on several boards, including as Secretary of the National Black Student’s Association during its 50th year.
Prior to law school, Britney earned a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Northern Illinois University, with an emphasis in Qualitative Research, along with a minor in Women’s Studies focused on Child Policy. She remains active in the legal and broader community through professional associations, board service, and civic involvement.
